The Principal Quality Assurance/Control Engineer is responsible for all the duties of a Senior Quality Control Engineer, but will have additional visibility and accountability for the entire teams deliverables and duties. This position will also be responsible for keeping abreast of new technologies, methodologies, industry trends and techniques to raise the quality and productivity of the Quality Control Team. This position will not have any direct personnel management responsibilities (hiring, firing, time off, crisis management, project resource allocation, etc.).
|Duties:||Each job duty is followed by the approximate percentage of time dedicated to each element.|
a) Writing and Testing 60%
Writing test plans, test coverage matrices, test cases, test scripts and test results documents
Testing client/server and web based applications
Help estimate and plan QC effort for projects
Ensure consistency and quality of testing projects and initiatives
Develop and discuss detailed defect reports and tracks all defects to closure
Develop and discuss detailed testing status reports
Participate in documentation reviews
Develops new ways to attack testing old items to make more efficient and develops approaches to attack testing of new items or functionality.
Review test documents or any other documentation written by QC Engineers and ensure the quality, reliability, robustness, performance and maintainability
b) Technical 30%
Develop expertise in Pilgrim products and technologies
Work with MSSQL and Oracle Databases to query, test and maintain applications databases
Attend technical training on site or off company premises
Participate in technical reviews
Maintain QC Infrastructure including machine maintenance and directory structures
Automated Testing including performance, load, functional and regression
Keeps abreast of all new quality and testing techniques, technologies and methodologies brings these to the team for improvement
Understand all QC projects and technologies used on those projects to better serve the team
c) Other Duties as Assigned 10%
Ensure all documentation and software is ready for release
Train and Mentor QC Engineers on Pilgrims processes, new industry technologies, methodologies and techniques
Support Other Departments with Knowledge of Applications and Technologies
Lead the effort for creating and updating the QC Knowledge Base
Assist in recruiting of new QC Team Members
Help analyze, develop and maintain QC processes and procedures
Takes leadership role to aid Quality Manager and other Senior Team Members on projects
Helps with team building exercises or practices
The employees will decide what features and items will be tested, and how the testing will be conducted for their assigned project. Aids Quality Manager in making fact based decisions on process, product, technique or other improvements to the QC Team.
Will be required to oversee other team members and ensure tracking and projects are on time and of the highest quality.

Minimum Educational Requirement
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

Minimum Skill and Experience Requirement
A minimum of 5 years of software testing
The individual must posses strong skills in the following:

Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel
Quality and Testing Methods for Enterprise Level Global Development Applications

Ability to understand and explain testing strategies
Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and translate that knowledge to OC and other departments team members
Seasoned in software testing and quality management
Writing test documents (test plans and test cases) without supervision.
Attention to detail
Strong verbal and writing skills in English
Experience with MSSQL and/or Oracle
Issue tracking skills
WE testing (Microsoft Technologies Net)
Requirements Traceability (Requisite Pro)
Strong knowledge in software development practices and methodologies.
Ability to review test documents and give constructive feedback on the documents
A student of software testing and quality management
Optimum Skills or Background
Knowledge of or experience with the following will lead to job success:
Programming in VB .Net, ASP .Net, VB, ASP, C, C++, Java, or any other languages
Manufacturing and/or Life Sciences Industries
Software Engineering Processes (RUP)
Project Management Experience
CMM, ISO or Six Sigma Methodologies
Automated testing on Web Base applications performance, load, functional and regression.
Product release and configuration management practices
Quality management systems
Proficient at MS Access, Windows, NT, DOS
Professional certifications PMI, MSCE, CSTE, etc.
Crystal reports Writer
Familiar with Agile Development methodologies and practices
